Vidovina is run by friends Paul and Marten, who bought the house as a ruin back in 2010 and have been renovating ever since. When we’re not there ourselves, we rent it out to vacationers and retreat organizers.

1. Where can I book?

   You can start a booking request here. This is also where you can check availability and pricing. Note that direct bookings (via this site) are 12-15% cheaper than if you book via Airbnb or other booking platforms.

2. How does booking work?

   Once you’ve sent a booking request or question, we will get back to you soon with an answer. Once we’ve figured out your booking we’ll send you a quote. To make the booking final you pay a 33% non-refundable deposit via the link in the quote. The 67% remainder is due 7 days before arrival.

3. What’s included in the price?

   The price includes everything related to the accommodation: the whole house, bed linens & towels (1 big, 1 small), cleaning, hosting, taxes. Not included is food, transportation and services like yoga classes, which you can arrange separately if you like.

4. What are the options in terms of food?

   Most groups cook food themselves, but you can also pick up meals from nearby restaurants like Locanda Cardello, or have local chef Andrea (+39 328 473 3310) prepare food and do groceries for you. Another good option is to contact Alice (+39 331 702 9157), who works with a culinary school to provide food services.

5. What are the options in terms of transport?

   Casola Valsenio is hard to reach by public transport, so the easiest option is to rent cars at the Bologna airport. If that doesn’t work for you, there’s a local taxi service you can contact (+39 335 678 3599).

6. What are the options on terms of yoga classes and massage?

   To get yoga classes at Vidovina or other locations, please contact Gabriela (+39 347 362 2772). If you’re looking for an (Ayurvedic) massage, Sabrina (+39 339 473 0992, in Italian) is a great option.

7. What are the options in terms of yoga gear?

   We have 22 sets of yoga gear available for yoga retreats. Each set consists of a yoga mat, a cushion, two cork blocks and a blanket. This is free for yoga groups.

8. What are the options for special events like weddings?

   Some great weddings have been organized in Vidovina, but we are not wedding planners, so you’ll have to organise everything yourself. Please let us know about you plans before you book Vidovina for a wedding.

9. Are the house and the pool heated?

   The house and the pool are not heated. There are two wood stoves in the house, but they do not heat the whole house. Please keep this in mind for bookings earlier and later in the season.

10. What’s the weather like in Casola Valsenio?

    Casola Valsenio is located in the hills of Northern Italy, which means that it can occasionally rain and get cold. See the temperature chart below.
